It was meant to add a simple extra expression to the MC's repertoire, but I felt it had more potential and ending up spending a bunch of time making variations and adjustments. I feel the result adds a new dimension to the MC's portrait-usage (and forms a nice basis for a dynamic portrait system I'd like to add a few floors down the line), but it's definitely not something my original release estimate(s) accounted for.
